The end product of insurance is the settlement of claims. This is the most important aspect of the broker’s job. The product will be put to test and the broker is expected to perform if he is to keep the portfolio. The Broker has to liaise with all the service providers who are Insurers, Reinsurers, Assessors, Panel Beaters, Lawyers or Building Contractors. This value chain must be managed effectively to ensure that the chain is not broken.

There are times when insurers try to repudiate claims on flimsy grounds. The broker must be on hand to assist. In addition, the broker undertakes recoveries from third parties and advices clients on all claims related matters.
